Thermodynamic Database

This database aims to provide a single source for information on the enthalpies of formation of binary, ternary and higher order alloy compounds. Initially the database has been populated with data from publications from the Kleppa group at University of Chicago and the Nash group at IIT. Additional data from other sources will be added thereafter. We welcome submission of data for inclusion in the database, either by sending all of the appropriate information on an excel template or a pdf of the original publication to Professor Philip Nash at nash@iit.edu. The data represents published or unpublished data provided to us, without comment on the accuracy or resolution of differences between different values for the same compound. Thus it is incumbent upon the user to resolve any conflicting data.

Additional information is provided on crystal structure of the compound where available. For measurement techniques resulting in an enthalpy value that corresponds to some other temperature than 298K the value for 298K may be given if the authors have provided the value or specific heat data are available to calculate it.

The database can be searched in different ways, for example by specifying the elements in alphabetical order(up to 4), their composition in mole fraction, the crystal structure or the CA registration number if the compound has one. If only the elements are given, then all the compounds including those elements will show up. The data may also be sorted by clicking on the appropriate column header.

The unit for the data is kJ/mole of atoms.
